An homage to the laundry services of NYC.

Mural
Black Paint Marker

2008
I painted this freehand on the wall of our old apartment in Brooklyn, NY. It served as a reminder of how quickly things can come and how quickly they can go. How the things we wake up with, or the life we wake up to, can completely change by the end of the day. Or whatever problems i was dealing with at the time i would put them into my metaphorical washing machine and try to have them all ironed and folded by the time i went to bed.

When we ended up leaving this residence our landlord would come around showing people the place and a few times we heard them say the would take the apartment only if we would leave the mural on the wall and not paint over it. I like that idea of having art that is not about who owns it, but rather who it owns.
